Shingled solar panels can generate higher power per square meter compared to traditional panels because they no longer require the cross-module busbars, allowing for more efficient use of the available surface area. This means that more solar cells are exposed to sunlight, producing more energy. 

As a result, shingled panels achieve higher power density in a smaller space since they don't use multiple busbars (MBB) or soldering strips like traditional panels. Additionally, it is expected that the power performance of shingled solar panels to be 15% better than traditional solar panel

By configuring the solar cells in shingled arrangements, they can be wired in groups and connected in parallel, which greatly reduces the losses caused by shading.
